It never ceases to amaze me how great design can capture your interest and leave a lasting imprint.
One of my absolute favorite places to visit in Washington, DC right now (and yes, there are many…) is Yards Park. Just a stone’s throw away from the Washington Nationals ballpark, Yards Park is part of a larger redevelopment initiative along the Anacostia waterfront. This just happens to be one of those public spaces – born from industrial beginnings – that truly engages passersby and connects the neighboring communities with the waterfront in such an interesting way.
I really appreciate the ingenuity and care spent on some of the details here, and if you are ever in the neighborhood you should make every effort to pay the park a visit.
